Small Business Organizations Endorse Rep. Justin Amash
Grand Rapids, MI — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) SAFE Trust PAC, Michigan Chamber of Commerce PAC, and Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce PAC have all endorsed Rep. Justin Amash for reelection.
"I appreciate the support of the small business community as we continue to fight for the economic freedom to make Michigan citizens and businesses more prosperous. As a legislator, I’ve worked hard to lower taxes, reduce government spending, and make the regulatory climate friendlier for small businesses," said Amash.
NFIB was founded in 1943 and is the nonpartisan voice for small businesses throughout the United States. NFIB’s stated mission is to promote and protect the right of their members to own, operate, and grow their businesses. In describing Amash’s strong record in favor of small business, NFIB Vice President Lisa Goeas wrote that Amash’s reelection is "not only critical to the small-business owners in [Michigan’s Third District], but also to protecting free enterprise across America."
The Michigan Chamber of Commerce represents over 6,800 Michigan businesses, chambers of commerce, and trade associations. Its President and CEO, Rich Studley, called Amash’s voting record "outstanding" and said Amash is "committed to enacting policies to encourage job creation and business growth in Michigan."
The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce has 2,700 member businesses, with over 80% employing fewer than 50 employees. "We need leaders in Washington who understand the importance of business and the free enterprise system," said President and CEO, Rick Baker. "The path to a complete economic recovery is through the front door of every small business and in the mind of every entrepreneur."
Congressman Justin Amash represents Michigan’s Third Congressional District, and he is the leading advocate for government transparency and restraint in the United States House of Representatives. His positions on a range of important issues reflect his principled, consistent commitment to limited government, economic freedom, and individual liberty. In addition:
